The Baltimore Ravens strengthen their chances at a playoff spot with a dominant home win over the Jets. Geno Smith had yet another poor game, throwing for only 127 yards all game long and two interceptions. His awful play against teams from the AFC North has to be alarming for Jets fans this season. What was not alarming was the way that the Ravens’ defense played in this game. They allowed just 220 total yards to New York, and held the Jets quarterbacks to a collective 10 completions (out of 24 attempts on the game). One of those completions and two of the attempts came from Josh Cribbs in case anybody was wondering. The three turnovers forced by Baltimore really helped their cause as well. For the Ravens, it is encouraging to see this team playing good football at the right time in the season as they gear up for a meaningful home game against the Steelers on Thanksgiving evening. The Jets will host the Dolphins in an equally important game next week as well as each of those teams are fighting for the #6 seed in the AFC, the spot that is currently held by the Tennessee Titans.
