This game was pretty freaking epic. It featured two of the games best wide receivers in AJ Green and Calving Johnson(who both put on a show, combining for 15 catches for 310 yards and three touchdowns),two of the games best young quarterbacks in Matthew Stafford and Andy Dalton (who combined for 729 yards and six touchdowns), and a last second field goal to decide the winner (which ended up being the Bengals). What more could you ask for as an unbiased football fan? Matthew Stafford became the first quarterback to throw for 300 yards against Cincy’s defense since Brandon Weeden (I crap you not) in Week 2 of last season. Each team put up over 400 yards of offense in this game and combined for 40 first downs. It really was a close game throughout. This is a huge win for the Bengals though, especially since the Ravens and Browns lost this week. They own a two game lead in the AFC North and have a chance to pull away from the pack with games against the Ravens, Browns, and Steelers coming in the next month(plus). Lions fans do have to be a bit heartbroken following this loss. The team played well on offense against a great defensive team and still lost. Plus, they missed a chance to sit alone atop the NFC North (seeing as how the Bears lost in Washington this week). As it stands, the Packers are in first place (with only three losses on the season) after this near-loss from Detroit. It was a valiant effort, but in the end they came up short. Now they draw a tough Dallas team at home next week in what should be another highly-entertaining game.
